This is the log of our Adoption trip to China with Dave and Grace, Betty (Grace's mom) and Jim (Dave's dad). We are going to pick up our two twin daughters Alicia Mei Ping and Olivia Mei An.

A funny thing happened on the way to Beijing

"If daddy can fill this so can I..."
So far Air China has better food and service than Air Canada, thats if you like rice, preserved veggies and a meat (probably dog). Speaking of dog, there are hardly any (if any) dogs or cats in sight in China - hmmmmm... The child pictured here has a death grip on any piece of paper or cardboard placed in her reach. She will continue this grip even when asleep.

Terra Cotta Warriors statues are found at the Beijing airport. Their was construction all over the airport as they are preparing for the 2008 Olympics. The government will be building the worlds largest airport and will be completed in 2015.

We were the only couple to have half naked babies - everyone else was too modest. It was hot and seemed like the best way to cool the girls off.

The girls are play with their friend David at the SOS foreigner health clinic on the embassy compound. Alicia is trying out her new cell phone.

Alicia:
"Hello, operator? Yes, help me, I am going to be examined by a stranger against my will! Hello? hello? Cheap Chinese cell phones!"

"Waaaaa!!! You try putting a cold thingy on your nipple!"

Dr. Chen from Montreal examined our girls and found that they are healthy. Alicia is physically tracking within the growth chart but is developmentally behind about 3 months. Olivia falls behind in both areas. She is at the 5th percentile inside the expected range. She is not as active as Alicia but seems to be tracking slightly behind.

As always, please pray for our kids!
