Happy smiling people everywhere!

OK, some of you may be asking why is he using different names with the girls each time he blogs. Well its pretty simple, I'm chinese and thats all there is to it. It is all their names as well. Short story long... the orphanage gave them legal names when they were found. This one here was named Xiu An'an, Xiu is the name of the town the orphanage is located so the government gave them a temporary last name and An'an is her first name - it means "calm". We have renamed her Olivia Mei An Lai. "Mei An" means beautiful and calm. It is traditional for chinese girls in the same family to share a common prefix name and in ours it is "Mei".

Xiu Ping'ping was her orphanage name, she is now legally Alicia Mei Ping Lai. Ping means "peaceful" or "level". She is NOT peaceful at least not during feeding or bed time. Oh, by the way we got poop today - Yay! One of the mothers in our group was able to supply us with an enema solution. Grandma volunteered to perform the delicate operation. Here Alicia is smiling because the plumbing works! You would smile to if you laid a couple of golf balls! (again, sorry Ann).
Anyways back to their names, I like their names and at home I will call them Ping'ping and An'an. I'm sure alot of people have different names for their kids - my parent's name for me was something I can't mention in public.
Ping'Ping, An'An, Alicia, Olivia, Mei Ping, Mei An, hey you rotten kids, It doesn't matter what I call them, I love them already and they are our kids... finally. Posted by Picasa
